A SEATON businessman is calling on traders in the town to work together to fight the downturn in trade.Ben Merigaux, of Seaton Wines, in The Square, suggests businesses in the town meet up to share ideas on how to improve trade in the current climate. He gave late night shop evenings at Christmas as an example of how they could support each other - by communicating better and with every shop staying open to encourage more trade. He said: "Only three or four shops were open when every shop should have been. It's not easy to do business in Seaton but, if you get ideas like that, everybody has to say 'let's go'."We have to help each other. Maybe we could talk between us more often, such as meeting once a month. "It's nobody's fault that business is bad, but we should work together to see what we can do for business and for Seaton.
