BANKERS from Lloyds TSB showed their green-fingered credentials when they lent a helping hand to spruce up the grounds and flower beds at Honiton Community College.
The team of seven volunteers from Lloyds TSB personal relationship team spent an afternoon revamping the grounds by tackling the overgrown flower beds and weeds, which were replaced by new plants and bulbs.
Every year the Lloyds team donate their services to help with a local community project.
Otter Nurseries carried out a survey on the area and drew up a design and list of plants for free.
Otter Rotters also donated some quality compost for the project.
The college’s director of finance Gary Wills thanked everyone involved for their help in making the grounds look more presentable.
Principal Iain Smith added: “This project has greatly enhanced the external appearance of our College and is an inspiration to our budding young gardeners to continue the good work.”
The students will now continue the upkeep of the flowers.
