... but detection rates remain high.
Crime has increased, according to the latest figures for the Honiton town area - but detection rates remain high.
For the period September 11 to October 8, there were 56 crimes reported to police compared to 35 crimes reported during the same period last year.
Of those, 10 crimes have been detected.
The town has also seen a 50 per cent fall in incidents of criminal damage. However, police say there has been a small increase in assaults and thefts.
Three people were issued with anti-social behaviour letters.
In the report read out during a meeting of Honiton Town Council last Monday the police stated speed detection will continue in the town.
