For the second year running, Honiton and District branch of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution came top of the league in Devon following the recent collection held at two local Tesco stores. We also topped our previous best Tesco collections, with £1,299.23 being collected at the Axminster store and a further £1,565.18 at Honiton - a fantastic result. Once again, the proceeds will be applied to the Exmouth Boathouse Appeal. Building work is already under way and, if all goes to plan, the new boathouse should be completed by Christmas. The branch would like to thank both Tesco stores for allowing the collections and the public for their wonderful support. Grateful thanks go to our dedicated band of supporters, plus several volunteers from neighbouring branches, who worked so hard to ensure the success of the collection.Rosemary EastellAcornsSheldonMore letters on page 18
