Lyme Regis lifeboat fundraising volunteers enjoy a festive lunch at the Hunter Lodge Inn

Volunteers at the award winning RNLI gift shop in Lyme Regis enjoyed a festive lunch with their partners and friends last week.

During the event at the Hunter Lodge Inn, Raymond’s Hill, retiring shop manager Brian Cursley proudly held up a card showing the record turnover total of £623,000 achieved since he took charge four years ago.

Also attending was Joan Leeming, long serving shop helper who is also retiring.

Brian told the gathering she had raised some £20,000 herself during many years of fund-raising.

He added that his successor at the shop had been found, but she still had to move to the area and he would continue as volunteer manager for some three months into the New Year.
