OVER 100 people attended a Police and Communities Together meeting in Axminster - with road maintenance marked as a top priority.

Representatives from East Devon District Council, Devon county highways, the local policing team and town councillors attended the 'Let's talk' meeting at The Guildhall last month.

A review of residents' comments showed that of 86 issues raised, maintenance of roads came out on top, with dog fouling second, and parking third.

Pc Darren Herridge said: "Before we set these priorities in stone, I would like to give residents a short amount of time to contact us if they disagree that this is what our partner agencies and ourselves should be concentrating on.

"We will then look at working closely with the relevant agency, which at present will be Highways, to ensure that the matters raised are resolved if possible.

"Obviously, all of the other matters raised will also be looked at by the department responsible."

Anyone wishing to raise any maters can visit the station or the Devon and Cornwall police website.
