Axminster Rotary Club has presented £500 to a Devon children’s hospice.

Past president Malcolm Reynolds travelled to Barnstable to hand over the cheque.

The money was received by Marina Leadbetter, the event fundraiser of the Little Bridge House Children’s Hospice.

Mr Reynolds chose to support Devon hospices as one of his causes during his year in office.

He and his family are personally aware of the valuable contribution to care made by them.

He said: “Those of us in Rotary are privileged to be able to help others and Little Bridge House Hospice is but one of many unseen heroes working in our society. Many of us are also walking for the Hospice charities on the ‘Doggie Trek’ on Sunday, August 11th, starting at the Exeter Quays from 10am. Everyone is welcome to join us, and it should be fun. Their web site www.chsw.org.uk gives more details.”
