Ron and Cynthia Keech will celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary tomorrow (Thursday).

The couple, who live in Seaton, met in September 1945 and were married on August 20, 1949. They have three children, Linda, Elaine and Richard, and one granddaughter, Sophie.

In 1953 they bought their first 29 seater motor coach. The business expanded and Ron became managing director of Court Line Coaches at Luton Airport, until the airline collapsed in 1974.

The couple moved to East Devon in 1975, where they bought and developed Westhayes Caravan Park and Pinewood Leisure Park at Rousdon.

Mr and Mrs Keech later sold their tourism interests and now, with son Richard, operate Sovereign Coaches, at Rousdon.

And the secret of their long marriage? Ron says: "Its quite simple really: today if people argue they separate, but if we have an argument we stop talking for ten minutes, and then start talking again on an entirely different topic."

Ron and Cynthia are going for an evening meal with their family to celebrate.
