Queen and Princesses receive their sashes and flowers at ceremony.
Applause rang out from excited onlookers as Colyton’s week-long carnival officially kicked off last Saturday.
The royal crowning ceremony was a big hit as Carnival Queen Fenella Clode, Princess Louise Hartnell and Princess Attendant Jessica Metson were crowned by Colyton Town Crier David Wenn.
The girls were deservingly praised for their hard work as it was announced Fenella raised £306.25, Louise £740, and Jessica £186, totalling an impressive £1,232.25.
Colyton Carnival reaches its musical climax on Sunday with an open air Songs of Praise, which will be held in the grounds of St Andrew’s Church from 2.30pm.
