Axe Yacht Club lays on salmon dinner for its counterparts from Lyme Regis
MEMBERS of Axe Yacht Club hosted a dinner for their Lyme Regis counterparts to further links between the two organisations.
Initiated by Bob and Shelagh Mercer, who are members of both Clubs, the lavish meal was enjoyed by around 80 sailors.
Axe Yacht Club Commodore Gordon Wright welcomed them all, explaining that there was an obvious desire from both clubs to increase joint participation on the water in sailing and boating activities, as well as socialising together.
Lyme Regis Sailing Club vice commodore Alan Cottis thanked the hosts for their hospitality and said his members would certainly welcome and enjoy more opportunities to take part in waterborne activities together.
