SAINSBURY'S has submitted a formal planning application to East Devon District Council for a store in Seaton.The joint submission by Sainsbury's and Modern Electric Tramways Ltd includes proposals for a visitor centre, new tramway terminus and new food store. The plans are for part of the resort's regeneration site.A spokesman for the supermarket firm said: "The proposal aims to boost the vitality of Seaton and will directly create 225 new full and part time jobs, 65 temporary jobs and retain all existing jobs associated with current operations on-site."Sainsbury's also plans to provide a tourist information centre, replacement skate park and children's play area, improved pedestrian links to the town centre, a new public square and car parking space for over 400 drivers.
