I would like to add to the Tesco/Seaton discussion.Tesco is in every postcode area in the country except four - Harrogate and three Scottish islands. Locally, it is in Axminster, Chard, Sidmouth and Honiton (where it wants to replace its existing store with an even bigger one).Sidmouth, in addition to Tesco, has Somerfield, Waitrose and Lidl.In Seaton, Tesco is not the only superstore showing an interest in locating to the town. Sainsbury's are also interested. Now this brings an interesting and valuable aspect to the discussion; it brings choice. Not only would Seatonians be able to choose between Tesco in Axminster and Sainsbury's in Seaton, so also would people in the surrounding area. This would attract into Seaton shoppers who previously would have gone to Axminster.Tesco has a presence in several parts of our district but Sainsbury's nearest superstore is in Exeter, thus giving it something of a rarity value if it were to locate to Seaton. In my opinion this, together with the great advantage of choice, makes Sainsbury's the better bet for the town.Michael BayleyLyndale Gully Shoot Colyford
