A VILLAGE hair salon is back in business three months after it was flooded.

Carole Gibbs, who co-owns Feniton Hair Xpress with Jan Wollacott, accidentally left a tap on.

She went out to lunch and returned to find the premises flooded, just a week after the salon benefitted from a new floor.

"I was so busy, I didn't realise I'd left the tap on," Carole told the Herald. "I went out to lunch and, when I came back, the salon was flooded."

Luckily, the cost of repairing the damage was covered by insurance.

However, finding workmen to complete the repairs hasn't been straightforward.

Now the salon is up-and-running normally.

"The customers are pleased," said Carole. "They have been good to put up with the upheaval for so long.

"The irony of it all is that we'd had the same floor for 15 years. Then, a week after having a new one, I flooded the salon!
