THE relocation of Mill Water School from Honiton to Cranbrook could take place ahead of the new community being built.

Councillor Sara Randall Johnson, speaking as Honiton's Devon county councillor, revealed last week that "Cranbrook has not happened fast enough".

With facilities at the Honiton Bottom Road site deemed out-of-date and unsuitable, it may be necessary to build the new school before houses at Cranbrook.

Councillor Randall Johnson made the comments at Honiton Town Council's October meeting.

Some councillors expressed concern that children will be expected to attend school "on a building site".

Others said parents and staff would prefer the new school to be built in Honiton.

Councillor Vera Howard said Cranbrook made no odds, as children travel from a wide area to attend the school.
