School gets physical award

STAFF and pupils at Axminster Community Primary School celebrated after the school was awarded the Devon Physical Activity Award. The accolade recognises the school as being at the forefront of physical activity development and means Axminster Community Primary becomes the first school in East Devon to win the prestigious status. The school's PE co-ordinator Jane Knight spearheaded the drive to achieve the award with support from colleagues and said: "Axminster Community Primary School is delighted to have received the Devon Physical Activity Award given by Devon Education Services. "Physical Education, Daily Physical Activity and School Sport (PEDPASS) provision at the school was judged to be good and showed the school's commitment to an active school culture and recognises the school as being in the forefront of physical activity development.
