Honiton Primary School celebrate ‘outstanding’ achievement.

Pupils and staff at Honiton Primary School have been celebrating an ‘outstanding’ achievement.

The school has been given an outstanding rating during its latest inspection by Ofsted.

Headteacher Andrea Brown said: “I am delighted with the report and it is down to the dedication of the whole school – the teachers, teaching assistants and support staff, school governors, the PTFA, parents and the children.”

The school achieved outstanding in all four areas for pupils achievement, the quality of teaching, behaviour and safety of pupils, and leadership and management. She added: “Our pupils achieve high standards as a result of the outstanding teaching and exceptionally rich curriculum which offer an exciting range of learning experiences.

“We are ambitious for the school and strive to provide the best for all our pupils. We are not going to stop and will continue to improve and provide the very best for every single child at Honiton Primary School.

“I am very proud of the school and it is great to get recognition for all our hard work.”

Honiton Primary School previously received a satisfactory rating during its previous inspection. The inspector said the pupils’ behaviour was exemplary and the headteacher, staff and governors have worked “effectively together to significantly improve the quality of teaching and learning since the previous inspection.”

The report said: “The school’s motto ‘Good, better, best - never let it rest until your good is better and your better best’ is not just words but sums up the determination of the school to continue raising standards.”
