Awliscombe Primary School pupil Guy Susevee shines at local chess tournament.

An Awliscombe pupil has been crowned school champion after blowing away the competition with his chess skills.

Guy Susevee, who attends Awliscombe Primary School, came third in a chess tournament, which attracted competitors from across Devon and Somerset.

He also won the title of the best under 11-year-old.

To add to his chess credentials Guy has also been crowned the school club champion for the year.
