Schools set to be closed with heavy snow expected

With heavy snow expected across East Devon, school closures have been announced in the area

With bad weather forecast for Thursday, many schools in Devon are planning to be closed for the day.

Honiton Community College was among the first to announce it would be closed on Thursday, March 1.

This morning, many more have been getting in touch with parents and students to say they are closed, as Storm Emma looks set to bring heavy snow to the area.

Colyton Grammar School, Axe Valley Academy, The King’s School in Ottery St Mary, Sidmouth College and The Woodroffe School, Lyme Regis, have also announced they will be closed on Thursday.

Primary schools have also followed advice about the incoming weather.

Honiton Primary School

Farway C of E Primary School

Broadhembury C of E Primary School

Branscombe C of E Primary School

Cranbrook Education Campus

Membury Primary Academy

Beer C of E Primary School

All Saints C of E Primary School

Withycombe Raleigh C of E Primary School, in Exmouth

Musbury Primary School

More schools are being added to the list of closures for the day.
