1st Honiton scouts start work on new carnival float

1st Honiton Scouts have gone all out to impress crowds on the carnival circuit with their entry this year.

The scout troop will be entering a full-sized carnival float as part of the East Devon carnival circuit which starts later on in the year.

Scout leader Steven Loader said: “After a fantastic year in 2012 we have upped the stakes and gone all out with a new full-sized float that we hope will impress the people of East Devon.”

He added: “It is the biggest the scouts have ever done.”

1st Honiton have thanked PDM Storage in Honiton for allowing them to store the float on its premises and all the other companies that have helped support them so far in this venture.

The theme of this year’s float remains a closely guarded secret.
