Scouts get out into the community

First Honiton Scouts pulled their sleeves up to give the town’s war memorial a good clean as part of the group’s community week.
The cleaning workforce was joined by Honiton town councillor Gary Elliot.
This was just one of the activities the scouts and beavers took part in as part of its community week.
Jose Beavers spruced up the planters near the Dowell Street traffic lights. The bedding plants used were donated by Homebase in Honiton.
A wonderful evening was had by Leonard Beavers, who joined residents at Abbeyfield residential home in Honiton to make poppies out of milk bottle tops. The residents shared their wartime memories.
To mark the 100th anniversary of World War One the scouting group has also planted poppies - ready for the town’s Armed Forces Day on Saturday, June 28.
