A VOLUNTARY beach clean will take place in Seaton as part of a national weekend on Sunday, September 21.

In an effort to publicise the need for keeping beaches clean and protesting about the continued dumping of rubbish from both marine and land-based sources, volunteers will record every item as they collect.

East Devon District Council will assist the event led by Dave Kelf - as part of the Axe Vale and District Conservation Society's (AVCDS) programme of events.

Vice Chair of AVCDS Mr Kelf said: "Seaton's annual beach clean has been taking place now for 20 years. It will be interesting to see if there are still any effects from the Napoli."

The clean will begin at 11am at Fisherman's Gap. Everyone is welcome - volunteers should bring gloves with them.
