Danny Byrne gave a comical demonstration on the art at the Methodist Church Hall.
He finished off by producing caricatures of some of society members.
l The next meeting will take place at the Methodist Church Hall, Valley View, on November 2, from 2pm to 4pm. Jon Davies will demonstrate the art of portrait painting in pastels.
l The society will hold a one-day event at Seaton United Reformed Church, Cross Street, on November 27, when members of the public will be able to watch artists at work.
l The society's AGM will takes place a week later on December 14.
