A SEATON couple have thanked residents and the emergency services which came to their rescue after they were involved in an accident.

Lisa Forbes and Eric Boot, landlords at The Famous George, said their Porche was written-off following the incident on the A3052 on Monday, September 26.

The couple said they were left shaken by the collision, but were grateful to the people who came to their aid.

Eric said: "I have never had a road traffic collision before - it was my first and hopefully the last as it was one of the scariest things I've ever encountered.

"The windows smashed and we both suffered bad whiplash and had to have three days off work. It was our first 'real' car - but it is no more. At least we were both able to get out and walk away from it.

"But it was lovely to see the community help out as it did. Around eight people stopped - including people from the Red Cross, pet shop, and the ambulance service and police.
