Seaton is gearing up for its first Vintage Day on Saturday (July 1) as part of this year's CycleFest

The two-day celebration of all things bicycle is organised by the town council and for Saturday’s Velo Vintage everyone is invited to step back in time.

Throughout the day, more than 100 cyclists will be riding through the town in vintage style. There will be places to meet the riders and admire their wonderful ‘steeds’.

From 9.30am, for about an hour, they will be at Seaton Jurassic, near the Tram Terminus. The timetable continues:

10.30am: Grand Depart from Seaton Jurassic.

10.35am: Fisherman’s Gap roundabout.

10.45am: Fore Street, Cross Street and Queen Street.

11am: Seaton Wetlands.

11.30am: The White Hart, Colyford.

12.45: Seaton Wetlands.

2pm: Fisherman’s Gap.

2.30pm: Cliff Field Gardens, Beer Road for the finish at the Vintage Fayre.

Meanwwhile, at 1pm, the Vintage Fayre gets under way at Cliff Field Gardens. People are invited to take along their own picnic or enjoy food from local traders including Paul’s Bakery, The Wild Caper and cream teas from Crossroads Church, along with activities plus a beer and Pimms bar.

Sunday, July 2, welcomes British Cycling back to Seaton with the town centre turning into a racecourse for the day, featuring some of the best cyclists in the South West.

Cycle races start at 11am on the Criterium course, along the Esplanade, up Castle Hill, down Seafield Hill Road and on to Harbour Road before heading to the Esplanade finish line via Beach Road.

Seaton CycleFest is put on by Seaton Town Development Team, the town council and Velo Vintage.
