SEATON Festival of Cycling will hold celebrations from Friday, July 2 to Sunday, July 4.

The Great Tour, part of the Tour of Britain organisation, will coming to Seaton and events will kick-off with a candle lit procession at 9pm at the town hall on July 2.

On Saturday, The Great Tour leaves Seaton at 10.30am. Lympstone Royal Marine Band will play them off and the festival will begin.

There will be cycle based activities, stalls, street entertainers and musicians all over town. Seaton's Voice will put on children's activities in Windsor Gardens.

A firework display will take place in the evening.

A cycle circus will take place on The Esplandade on Sunday, and Seaton and District Chamber of Commerce are holding a 2010 Best Dressed Window Competition to encourage businesses to adorn their shops with hanging baskets and flowers, with a cycle related theme.

There are even prizes for the best dressed mobility scooter, bicycles, skateboards or scooters - in fact anything on wheels other than cars.

Anyone who like to get involved or would like more information on the events can call Gaynor Sedgwick on (01297) 625671, or Heather, on 24557. For more information, visit www.seatonfestivalofcycling.org.uk or www.thegreattour.org
