A SCHEME to protect people with learning disabilities has been launched in Seaton. The Safe Place initiative aims to stop bullying and abuse of vulnerable people with the help of local businesses.A person with a learning disability will carry a card containing their name and personal contact details so that shop staff know who to contact if they become distressed.PCSO Chris Bolsover said: "Seaton police are pleased to be part of this scheme, which helps to ensure that people with learning disabilities can visit Seaton confident in the knowledge they have a number of Safe Places where they can go, should they need to."The scheme has been welcomed by shops, cafes and licensed premises in the town and are hoping to get more signing up in the coming weeks.
