Seaton man assaulted in “cowardly attack”
Police hunt after man pulled from his doorstep and beaten by gang
POLICE are hunting a gang who hauled a Seaton man from his doorstep and brutally attacked him.
The victim was repeatedly punched and kicked, suffering head injuries and suspected broken ribs.
The unprovoked assault happened in Fore Street at around 1.20am this morning (Friday November 12).
A police spokesman said a group of around four men were involved.
One of them pulled the man to the floor before the assault took place. The injured man was helped back into his house by a relative.
Appealing for help to catch the culprits a police spokesman said: “This was a particularly callous and cowardly act by approximately four males who are suspected to live locally. “All the males were believed to have been white, some wearing beanie hats, one of the males was described as just over 6ft tall, medium build with blonde, curly/wavy type hair.
