SEATON police sergeant Gary Phillips has announced he will be transferring from the town.

During the monthly council meeting on Monday (September 21) Sgt Phillips said that he would be joining the Specialist team in Exmouth as a Detective Sergeant in two weeks.

He said he had mixed feelings about leaving after seven years in the town, but that he had been striving for such a post for some time.

He said: "It has been a wonderful place to work and I think, as a team, we have achieved a lot. And working with the council has achieved a lot.
