Seaton residents left stranded in their homes

Anger over lack of gritting during big freeze.
Hundreds of council taxpayers living on a bus route in Seaton have effectively been prisoners in their own homes this Christmas.
When contacted on December 22, Devon County Council refused to grit or clear Poplar Tree Drive in Seaton, because, despite being a bus route, it wasn’t classed as “a primary route”. Its residents were, therefore, abandoned, as Stagecoach deemed it too dangerous to run their buses on the untreated route.
This inaction by Devon County Council has cut off hundreds of residents, many of them elderly and has thrown into sharp focus the very poor service we receive for our council tax.
