SEATON residents are being urged to write to Devon County Council to fight against proposed parking meters in the town.

The Chamber of Commerce has been informed charges could apply to: Sea Hill, Seafield Road, Eyre Court Road, Fore Street, Queen Street, Cross Street, Harepath Road and the Esplanade.

DCC is also reported to propose making a section of the Esplanade between Fisherman's Gap and Beach Road one-way to allow for extra metered parking all year round.

People who do not agree with the proposals are advised to write to councillor Jim Knight and Matthew Scriven, traffic policy manager, explaining the impact this will have.

Mr Knight's address is: 4 Maple Close, Seaton, Devon, EX12 2TP. His email is jim.knight@devon.gov.uk

Mr Scriven can be reached at: DCC, Lucombe House, Topsham Road, Exeter, EX2 4QW. His email is: matthew.scriven@devon.gov.uk
