A MAN accused of an armed robbery in Seaton has appeared in court this week following his deportation from the US.Stephen Jackley, 23, of Manstone Avenue, Sidmouth, was met by West Mercia Police at Heathrow on Tuesday and was arrested in connection with 21 offences.He was brought before Worcester Magistrates' Court but entered no plea to the offences, which include one armed robbery in Seaton and two in Exeter.He is also accused of unlawful and malicious wounding, a bank robbery in Herefordshire, and three armed robberies and two burglaries in Worcestershire.Jackley was remanded in custody until Monday, August 10, when he will appear at Worcester Crown Court.DC Alex Bingham, of Exeter CID, said: "He is back in this country where West Mercia Police are leading the investigation."He is now under our control through the legal system and it is now a waiting game for him to be processed through the system. We will know further in August or September time."He was sentenced to ten months at Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Centre in New York after he admitted trying to buy a gun with a fake ID last May for a £100 bet.It was only after Jackley, a first year student on an undergraduate modular scheme at the University of Worcester, was arrested in the US that the alleged offences in England were uncovered.
