SEATON Town Council has been surrounded by more drama in recent years than TV soap operas, according to a councillor.
Cllr Julia Roebuck made the comments during a monthly meeting, saying the town had been through a 'dark period'.
Reading from a statement, she said: "Over the last three years since I have been a town councillor in Seaton, there has been more drama surrounding this council than episodes of Eastenders and Coronation Street combined."
But, she said, she was grateful to people who had worked hard to help improve the town and believed better days lay ahead.
She said: "Seaton has been through a very dark period and there are dark days still to come. But things are starting to turn around, with new activity and projects on the horizon.
