SEATON S late night shopping extravaganza this Friday (December 4) promises to be the town s best.

SEATON'S late night shopping extravaganza this Friday (December 4) promises to be the town's best.

Seaton and District Chamber of Commerce say they have been preparing for the event months in advance.

Press officer Chris Abbott said: "We have an action packed event planned for the whole family. A lot of work has gone into this to make it the best late night Christmas event Seaton has ever seen.

"With what we have planned, it should give a very special Christmassy atmosphere and get everyone into the Christmas spirit."

The event kicks off at 4pm, with organised activities for children in Windsor Garderns, including The Crystal Creatures - human statues, mime performers and stilt walkers.

A Christmas themed fancy dress competition will be held for under 14s. The winner will help Mayor Sandra Semple switch on the Christmas lights.

Carol singing by candle light will take place in The Square from 5.30pm, led by the new Axe Valley Community Choir and Seaton Baptist Church Band. Mince pies with mulled wine will be on offer.

The Seaton majorettes will perform and there will be an appearance from Father Christmas, who will arrive in his sledge into the square.

Shops taking part will be open until 8pm and many will be thanking their customers by offering special offers, discounts and some are offering free product samples.
