DEVON County Council has confirmed a taxi bay in Fore Street, Seaton, is in use.

The response comes following complaints from residents who have been booked for parking in the area.

But a spokesman admitted the waiting plate had been missing but is now in place.

He said: "East Devon District Council is responsible for licensing taxi ranks in East Devon. DCC , as traffic authority, is responsible for marking the taxi rank on the highway.

"The taxi bay is clearly marked on the highway and requires a waiting plate to confirm what time the taxi rank applies, which is at all times.
