Authority unable to come up with a viable business plan to run the adult education centre as a community base
Seaton Town Council agreed last night (Monday) not to proceed with plans to purchase the St Clare’s adult education centre for community use.
Mayor Peter Burrows told The Herald that with time running out to make an offer to Devon County Council for the building they did not have a viable business plan to warrant proceeding.
“We wish Leisure East Devon every luck in getting the property for use as a gym and health suite,” he added.
A full statement on the town council’s decision not to proceed with the St Clare’s project is due to be released shortly.
