Marshlands event will raise money for the Alzheimer's Society

Seaton Town Council is supporting the Alzheimer’s Cupcake Day on Tuesday, June 20, by holding a coffee morning between 10.30am to 12.30pm at its Marshlands Centre in Harbour Road.

Councillor Martin Pigott said: “‘We would like to see as many members of the public as possible come along and join us, to have a coffee and cake to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.

“Everyone is welcome. For anyone who would like to donate cakes, they can be bought in to Marshlands on Monday, June 19, or taken along on the day.

“Every penny raised from the cupcake coffee morning will go to the Alzheimer’s Society to make sure that they can be there for people affected by dementia.”

It is estimated that 850,000 people are living with dementia in the UK and that this number will rise to 1 million by 2025 and 2 million by 2050.

Seaton Town Council is supporting a project to make Seaton a dementia friendly town. If you are interested in becoming a dementia friend please get in touch by calling 01297 21388 or emailing
