Could a town be betrayed anymore by their authority? Only one lonely councillor had the guts to oppose the Tesco plan - thank you to him.

The rest dismissed out of hand objection after objection and ignoring what the town wanted.

To say this was a stitch up is an understatement. Yet again it is one rule for Honiton and Sidmouth, another for us. Because we don't matter.

If Tesco had listened to what the town wanted and given it to us in a full (not outline) planning application then perhaps we would have been more open to them despite the fact they have a monopoly in the area. But they have given us nothing - only a re-hash of the awful Liatris plans.

I have seen so many people work relentlessly on trying to get a better deal for Seaton, only to be betrayed yet again. I want to thank them - their work has not gone unnoticed by me at least.

One wonders what will make EDDC give Seaton a fair deal and my conclusion is that they never will. There is only one thing they can do - hand us over the West Dorset District Council, and the sooner the better.

EDDC obviously has an agenda for Seaton - the forgotten town. To forget it even more. No youth facilities. No leisure facilities. No tourism. Just a giant Tesco. Thank you EDDC, I hope you are proud of yourselves.
