Seaton and District Twinning Association is continuing to flourish, members agreed at their 34th annual general meeting last week.

Around 30 members and visitors attended the gathering in the Masonic Hall.

Officials said the important group continues to be loyally supported and, with new members joining each year, it is going from strength to strength.

The existing 10-strong committee agreed to continue with the addition of one new member.

Last year’s activities were outlined, including a visit, in June, by residents from their twin town of Thury-Harcourt. Their weekend stay included visits to Exeter and Bicton Park and a most enjoyable barn dance dinner. A particular highlight, arranged by two of the original founders of the twinning group, Jeff and Val Day, was a tour of the Tower of London. Other events included an auction of promises, coffee and cake mornings, a party on the beach and a Christmas meal. This year, the Seaton group will visit Thury-Harcourt from June 3 to 6
