Tom Newton is remembered at Axe Vale Heritage Museum.
CLAIMS that a Seaton war hero has been forgotten are not true, says local historian and writer Ted Gosling.
A large photograph of Tom Newton, together with details of his heroic actions during the Second World War, is prominently displayed at Axe Vale Heritage Museum in the resort.
A photograph of Mr Newton with his wife at Buckingham Palace is also featured the book East Devon at War, written by Mr Gosling and the late Roy Chapple.
