SEATON WI heard a talk on how to 'Get Scam Wise' at their meeting last month.
A Trading Standards officer from Devon County Council explained to the group that the people who perpetrate these scams claim millions of pounds.
The group were advised to be wary of people visiting at the door, cold calling or sending unsolicited mail.
Next month's talk, 'In a Class of My Own,' will be by a former school master. Visitors are welcome on Tuesday, 2.15pm, October 20, at the Seaton Methodist Church Hall.
