Man with knife threatens assistant at Prospect Garage

Police in Axminster are appealing for information following another armed robbery in the town.

The latest incident occurred at around 6pm on Christmas Eve, at the Prospect Filling Station, in Lyme Road.

The offender entered the premises armed with a knife and threatened the assistant and demanded money from the till.

The male assistant handed over a quantity of cash and the offender then left.

The suspect is described as being a white man aged between 20 and 30 years, approximately 6ft in height, slim build, with brown eyes and wearing a blue hat and face scarf with horizontal stripes, a blue sweatshirt, jeans and dark shoes.

Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time or anyone who has any information regarding the identity of the offender. The latest incident follows a robbery at The Co-op Store in South Street on Saturday (December 21) when a man with a knife threatened staff and got away with cigarettes and vodka. A 26-year-old local man has subsequently been charged with the offence.
