A COLLECTING tin has been stolen from the counter of a Honiton fish and chip shop.
The tin, which was tied to the counter at Chippy Joe's, in New Street, was nearly full when it disappeared earlier this week.
It contained cash destined for TRIP Community Transport Association.
TRIP's manager Neil Hurlock said: "It is very kind of Chippy Joe's to have our tin there and the generosity of customers is much appreciated in helping us.
"Some selfish, thieving moron then comes along and dies this.
"It certainly adds to our problems of getting in enough money to keep us going, as we depend on donations such as these to help keep serving local older people and the disabled."
TRIP is taking part in Saturday's Charter Day celebration in Honiton and hopes the proceeds of a tabletop sale will make up for the money that has been stolen.
