The 11-year-old and five friends set off from the Otter Inn in Weston on Sunday and ran roughly 10 miles to Feniton and back.
The young cousin of a Honiton man, who died in a motorbike accident, has raised more than £700 after running a mini-marathon in his memory.
Cameron Pegg, 11, and five friends set off from the Otter Inn in Weston on Sunday and ran roughly 10 miles to Feniton and back.
The sponsored run was thought up entirely by Cameron, who wanted to raise money for dog charity Hounds for Heroes - and awareness of the life of his cousin, Luke Perryman.
Luke, who was a former pupil at Littletown Primary School and Honiton Community College, died on October 15, 2014, after a tragic road traffic accident on base at RAF Conningsby, Lincolnshire, which involved his much-loved motorbike.

Luke’s mother and Cameron’s aunt, Helen, praised Cameron for taking on the run.
She said: “It’s just lovely that Luke inspired him to do something like this. I am delighted Cameron did the run in Luke’s name, for a worthy cause that Luke would have been impressed with as it is something to do with dogs - animals he loved.”

Cameron decided to take on the run after hearing that his mum, Alison, was doing a skydive for ‘bloodbikes’ charity Devon Freewheelers this Saturday.
Alison said: “I am really proud of Cameron. He organised this run and sponsorship all off his own back. He was very ambitious. His run was for a very worthy cause. Luke would have been very proud of Cameron.”
The Pegg family would like to thank Print and Stitch, Charlie and Lester of Otter Inn for supplying refreshments, Andy Large for driving a support vehicle and to all those who supported Cameron and his friends’ run.
Hounds for Heroes provides trained assistance dogs to injured and disabled members of both the UK armed forces and civilian emergency services. It aims to give practical support, leading to an enhanced quality of life for our heroes.
