Once again we have Councillor Sara Randall Johnson going on about the disadvantages of having a unitary council, and that EDDC will be taking legal advice to oppose this absurd idea.
Once again we have Councillor Sara Randall Johnson going on about the disadvantages of having a unitary council, and that EDDC will be taking legal advice to oppose this absurd idea.
Who will be paying for this advice?
She appears to be the only councillor who is publicly campaigning against this proposal.
The other week I attended Honiton Town Council open meeting with the new chief executive of Devon County Council in attendance.
At that meeting, I asked why we (over 60s) in Honiton were denied free admission to the swimming pool.
The answer: "It's down to your local district councillors."
As l see it, with a unitary council, they would make the decision for all the county, much fairer.
And, again, last week the all important meeting regarding the future of The Bungalow with the chief executive of Devon Partnership NHS Trust, Iain Tulley, answering questions... As far as I could tell, Councillor Sara Randall Johnson was not in attendance at either of these meetings.
At the last local elections, I believe She said, if elected, she would be there for the people of Honiton.
