It is very hard to try and put this incident out of your mind. I would like to say how many people were appalled that this could happen to a local man, here in Honiton. What is happening to society?A drugs haul a few weeks back and the increasing alcohol problems among the younger people. Why is this going on in Honiton, a beautiful little town? Also, with reference to the new traffic direction system in Lace Walk car park... It would have been very useful if East Devon District Council warned and notified the public in the first place of the change to the car park.I do appreciate that the change was necessary and will, in the long run, be a lot better.I hold my hands up, the day after the change, I drove the wrong way. I did wonder why cars were all coming my way!An honest mistake - on my part, but all the people I spoke to in the car park were also surprised at the change. It was done so quickly, without telling us.All I saw then was one small sign, hardly big enough for anyone to read,Later, on another week, a bigger sign appeared outside the car park, but still not very clear. Can you blame people! I am also concerned that, now we are coming in the other way, what care is there for all the pedestrians walking into the entrance of Lace Walk? Everyone should be driving with care in the first place, in the car park, but I am afraid that it is an accident waiting to happen. I would not want anyone to be injured or killed there. The council should have thought this through. It won't be any good after something happens.Y Jeeves Woodhill View Honiton
