THIEVES in Lyme Regis have scarpered with a 6ft high shark and a dinosaur.

The plastic advertising sculptures were stolen from outside The Jurassic Seafood Restaurant in Silver Street between 1am and 5am on Thursday, July 9.

The camera shy culprits dodged the spotlight of the restaurant's CCTV system as they tore down the features from their mountings.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who has spotted a large dinosaur or dolphin head.

The shark was spotted basking in the bushes on the embankment behind the library.

Anyone with information should call PCSO 5386 John Burton on 01305 222 222, quoting crime reference 09/0240.
