TWO SHEEP were killed in fields in the Wilmington area between January 14 and 15.

Police say it appears to have been a dog attack and is asking for anybody with any information to contact them on 0845 2777 444.

PC Mark Carnall said: "I would like it to be known that a farmer is well within their rights to shoot a dog if he catches it worrying his livestock.

"When walking dogs, owners should keep them on a lead when they are in a field with livestock in it.
