A SITE visit is to be conducted by three town councillors in Honiton on Friday after four letters of objection were received in respect of an application for two extensions and alterations to the front porch at 11 Pine Park Road.

Honiton Town Council's planning committee heard last night (Tuesday) that the proposed developments are not in keeping with the area, are overbearing and raise traffic and parking issues.

Mr P Manley is seeking permission from East Devon District Council for the work.

His application is for a two-storey extension and a single storey extension, as well as work to the porch.

Councillor Michael Teare, chairman of the planning committee, said owners of neighbouring properties had complained that the development would be "obtrusive and detrimental to the area".

Those attending the site visit will have delegated powers to make a recommendation.
