Police investiagte 28 incidents during August

Recorded crime in Axminster showed a slight increase last month.

Police Community Support Officer Andy Trott reported to the town council that officers investigated 28 incidents, two more than in August last year.

The offences included an assault, a burglary, a dog not being under proper control, the passing of counterfeit currency, fraud and four cases of criminal damage.

PCSO Trott said they also had to deal with five common assaults, and attempted burglary, a drinking and driving incident and the theft of a digger.
