TOWN councillor Sophie O'Connell has announced her decision to leave Grove Zero. The 22-year-old, who helped launch the weekly disco for 11 to 16 year-olds, said and she wanted to concentrate on other projects.

TOWN councillor Sophie O'Connell has announced her decision to leave Grove Zero.The 22-year-old, who helped launch the weekly disco for 11 to 16 year-olds, said and she wanted to concentrate on other projects.The disco was started with the help of Devon Youth Service, Seaton police and The Grove's management two years ago and numbers peaked at 230 people. Numbers have now started to decline and the club is currently closed for summer.Sophie, who won Devon Young Councillor of the Year for her work at Grove Zero, said: "It is now time for me to move on and start work on various other projects I have in the pipeline as well as more voluntary youth work with Devon Youth Service and the Big Fish Cafe."I would like to thank all of the volunteers, parents and young people who have helped make Grove Zero such a success. "I wish Joe Derek and the rest of the Grove Zero volunteers the best of luck for the future.
